Rain at Byron Bay -1st December 2011

It’s the first day it has rained for real! Melbourne has been experiencing a storm and this has worked its way North to us. The temperature was reduced by 15 degrees at a stroke. The wind gusts constantly, tugging at the palm trees, creating a wild swish. The rain becomes persistent during the afternoon. It’s fine drops drift in clouds across the view.

It’s good news for surfers who have been wave starved. Although the sea is still reasonably calm to day you can see the beginnings of the swell building. Tomorrow, they think, at least the next day

We need to move on tomorrow and will spend much of the day in a coach.
Let it rain!
